New Camera

After lots of research of technical specifications, user reviews and our budget, we finally bought ourselves a new digital camera. It's a Canon PowerShot A1100IS. It's not quite as fancy as I was hoping, but it's also not as expensive. So far, it's taken some really good pictures including the self-portrait above. I'll let you know if I still like it in a couple weeks.

Christmas Village

So, last year (or was it two years ago?), Tom and I decided to make our own Lego Christmas Village one building at a time. We thought we were being pretty original. We designed a train station and ordered it off Lego's website. So, this year, we got the Lego catalog (yes, we get the Lego catalog) and what do we see on the front cover but the cutest Toy Store ever, complete with a Christmas tree, snowman, carolers, etc. I guess they liked our idea. Of course, their designs for buildings are much better than ours, so we bought it. I hope this is going to be a tradition with Lego. If not, we have a few more ideas for buildings we could design. This one is pretty amazing, though. It would be very hard to replicate.

Five Months

Toby turned five months old today. Yesterday, we started him on rice cereal. He was intrigued, but didn't have very much. Well, today he had two bowls full. He just kept opening his mouth and begging for more. I couldn't believe it. Of course, most of it ended up on his bib and his clothes, but he really seemed to like it. Just as he was finishing off the second bowl his eyes started to close and he was out. I hope this wasn't just a fluke. It'll be a nice change to have a kid who eats once in a while without fighting me.

All Hallow's Eve

We had so much fun on Halloween! Paige was a Triceratops and Toby was a dinosaur egg. We took Paige trick-or-treating in Tom's old neighborhood since our neighborhood does trunk or treat. She was so cute as you can clearly see from the picture. We didn't take Toby out with us this year, but next year for sure!

Scooby Doo Haunted Mansion

I finally decided it was time to give Paige the Scooby Doo Haunted Mansion I've been making for her. I could've continued to work on it for months, it's been so much fun, but it was time to let her enjoy it a little. I think she likes it. There's a revolving bookcase and a trap door, of course. I also made a piano, a grandfather clock, a couple of tables, a rocking chair and a couch. After making the house, it was time to haunt it. I put in bats, ghosts, spiders, snakes, witches and aliens. If anyone wants to see it, you should come by!!! (And soon. I don't know how long it's going to be before it gets destroyed. Paige is 2 after all.)
